  1. Last year was a complete blast. I only wish my weekend wasn't already booked.

If you've not gone on this drive in the past, I highly recommend it. Plus, the sites once there were great too.

  2. I was going to run the route a few days before the official run to make sure there is no construction or anything like that but if others want to join we can organize a mini-MINI Starved Rock Run.

  3. I'll be in school that day, but I was there last year!!! I'll be living vicariously through all of you 馃槈

  4. Bummer! I would love to do this!

Unfortunately, I have to coach my son's basketball team at 2pm and Saturday's can be tough for me unless it's really, really early.

Lex, Ken, and John (and others) — Is there serious interest in doing a pre-run on Sunday the 13th?

  5. Lets plan for Sunday the 13th at 9:30am for the pre-run. I live in Morris and that's pretty much where the fun part of the run starts, so how about we meet here in Morris. Culvers is probably the easiest since it's right off the highway and easy to find. We can meet there around 9am and do the run as soon as everyone arrives.

Anyone who is interested please send me an email so I can keep you updated.

  6. Yes, interested in pre-run. Tommy even said he'd get up early so long as he can sleep on the way to Morris. But if it rains, we're a no show.

  7. Pre-run Update:

I'm still hoping that Sunday the 13th at 9:30am will happen for me but it is not 100% definite yet. At the least I think I will be able to meet people at Culvers and explain the route and guide you to the start.

The reason is that I am expecting a baby and the baby does not want to come out. My wife is overdue about 15 days, so the deal is that if the baby does not come out by tomorrow night I should probably stay home (especially since we're having a home birth). Sorry if I got anyones hopes up, but when I made the original post almost a week ago it didn't occur to me that the baby might still be refusing to come out this late. I'm sure she's going to be a really stubborn one when she finally appears.

  8. Pre-run Weather Update:

Partly cloudy. A 40 percent chance of rain showers in the morning. Highs in the middle 50s.

^^ Doesn't sound good. Especially since we'll be going in the morning.

  9. So far I have heard responses from Taylor and gtshnzr on the pre-run. Unfortunately neither of them will be able to make it.

That leaves just me. So, if I do not hear from anyone else about the pre-run by tonight I will probably go some other time when it's more convenient for me and closer to the actual day of the official run.

  10. How would you all feel about possibly doing this again on November 27th? It's a Sunday, which would be better for any of us who have work or other commitments on Saturdays. The rally seems like it would be fun! Besides, who wants to spend the Sunday after Thanksgiving actually shopping?!? I'd rather be drivivg my Mini. Good luck with the baby LEX!

  11. I can't say for sure.. Last time a bunch of people only stayed 1/2 hour or less and a handfull of others explored the park for a while..

  12. Starved Rock:

I drove the entire route today! Tons of fun! Can't wait to get out tomorrow for another run.

    Baby:

Born Nov 14 at 5:31pm weighing in at 8 pounds 11 ounces. Her name is Caia which is a Latin name meaning to rejoice.

  13. Weather Forecast:

    9 AM: 34 F
    12 PM: 46 F
    3 PM: 50 F

Looks like it's not going to rain and the temperature is slightly above freezing, hopefuly enough so to keep the roads safe and fun.
